Maz Move-A-Thon

Get moving for the Maz

Held from beginning to the end of Heart Month, the Maz Move-A-Thon is a fundraising event organized and run by the cardiac staff of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute (Maz) that everyone can participate in. Participants can sign up individually or as a team for a virtual move-a-thon. Walk, run, spin, swim, row – move however you feel most comfortable and get fundraising!

About Maz Move-A-Thon

Led by staff at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute (Maz), the Maz Move-A-Thon is a month-long fundraising event that encourages us to practice positive cardiovascular health. Last year, over 11 million steps raised more than $61,000. Participants can get involved in any way that keeps them active, such as walking, running, cycling, yoga or rock climbing. On their journey to making life better for patients at the Maz, teams engage in a friendly competition to claim Top Fundraising Team and Most Steps accolades.

By supporting our doctors, researchers, and care staff at the Maz you have opened up doors to a whole new world. One where cardiac patients can receive a second chance at life thanks to revolutionary technology like the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). Minimally invasive procedures and technology that are available to treat conditions that once required risky major surgery. And diagnosing even the most complex cardiac conditions is faster and more accurate.
