Your generosity helped make this year’s 630 CHED Heart Pledge Day the best yet!
630 CHED Heart Pledge Day 2013 was broadcast live from the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Listeners from across Alberta tuned in to hear real-life stories from patients whose lives have been changed and saved, caregivers who are delivering the highest levels of advanced care and researchers who are changing the face of cardiac treatment.
This year’s event was a tremendous success. Over $145,000 was raised to help ensure adult and pediatric patients from across northern and western Canada continue to benefit from the highest level of advanced cardiac care.
These funds will help support the expansion of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. Equipping six additional specialized rooms with state-of-the-art technology will allow us to treat more patients at one time than ever before.

The Rosenau Heart Wall, located on the second floor of the Maz near Patient Registration, contains hundreds of “generous hearts”, each representing a gift made to the Maz during the month of February. The Heart Wall will remain up until Friday, March 15, so if you haven’t had a chance to donate it’s not too late!
