Grateful Patient Gives Thanks

When Kristin Henry had her first of two brain surgeries 13 years ago, she was a popular high school student, champion synchronized skater, and the victim of frequent, near-paralyzing headaches. Surgeons removed as much of her tumour as they could see. A tiny piece of it was left behind, and her headaches soon returned.

In 2013, Kristin underwent her second brain surgery, this time in the most advanced neurosurgical suite in the country - featuring the finest intra-operative imaging technology in the world.

“I felt very confident going into this recent surgery,” says Henry. “They successfully removed a cluster that was hanging from a vessel in my brain, which was causing my migraines. Thanks to the MRI in the operating room, my surgeons were able to successfully remove every single piece of the tumour and they won’t have to go in again."

Speaking at the 2013 Chairman’s Dinner, Kristin, now healthy and happily married, expressed her deepest gratitude. “Thanks to the MRI in the operating room, my surgeons were able to remove every single piece of the tumour, and they won’t have to go in again. I haven’t had a migraine since – and I am grateful every day.”
